The European Central Bank (ECB) provides loans against a fixed interest of one per cent with a duration of one year. The demand for these loans were huge because they were more favourable than the usual ones. Since three months the banks are losing their interest in these loans which seems to indicate that the distrust between the financial institutions is slowly fading away and that the interbank market is starting to function.
