Fear takes over from reason as traders see no end to financial crisis.

As the financial crisis continues traders quit acting rational, everybody just wants to get their money and put it under the mattress.

Rational thinking has been replaced by fear over the past few weeks, as efforts by
G7 governments were proving haphazard and couldn't prevent shares from falling. Fear has been running rampant all over the street as traders are selling their shares while banking analysts advise their investor clients to steer clear. Chancellor Alistair Darling warned that it was "essential" that the world's leading economies took action to stabilise financial markets so traders' fears could be substituted with rational thought again.

As the financial crisis continues [add a comma] traders quit acting rational [use an adverb here: rationally], everybody just wants to get their money and put it under the mattress.

Use your own words, not The Guardian's.
